Polestar has cooperated with Swiss Bcomp company to replace a large number of plastic panels in the previous car with natural material linen and replace the seats with recycled plastic, which is further sustainable. According to Polestar, flax plants can be used not only as food materials but also as clothing fabrics. The choice of linen material is because the material is 50% lighter and stronger than traditional plastic materials. Polestar said that this method can reduce the amount of plastic used in the car by 80%.

In addition to using linen materials, Polestar will also plan to use a series of other materials for the interior of the car. For example, the seat surface uses Bcomp's 3D woven material made of plastic bottles; car carpets made from discarded fishing nets; and the waste materials generated in the cork manufacturing process are used to produce PVC interior components for vehicles.

Maximilian Missoni, Polestar's head of design, said in a statement: "We will not lose some of the more luxurious designs because of the use of these materials." He pointed out that this is a very large Challenge, due to the adoption of new technologies, Polestar will gain new aesthetic value.

Prior to this, Polestar 2 under Polestar has been in trial production in China, and mass production will be officially started and delivered in the first half of this year. The official price of the first version is 418,000 yuan.
